| Host Hotel and Early Check-In Information Click here for a map to the Hotel Holiday Inn Express- 972.929.4499 The Holiday Inn Express just north of DFW airport is a GREAT hotel for the money. The rooms are huge and CHEAP, only 55 dollars a night plus BREAKFAST. I don't know how great the service is going to be at the front desk but they seem very nice. They gave me a key and I went to check out one of the rooms. Very large room for only 55 dollars. This will probably be the best hotel you have every stayed at in Dallas for only 55 dollars. Please hurry because the rooms will all be booked soon. There are two options for rooms. The first option is actually two rooms. The outer room has a couch that pulls out into a bed and the inner room has a King bed. The other option is one big room that has two double beds and a couch that folds out into a bed. You can easily fit three people in each room. This will also be the location of our early check-in location and VIP area.
We will be at the hotel from 8-10 pm Friday night for early check-in. If you come to the early check in you don't have to worry about standing in line with 100 other teams Saturday morning, and yes, we have over 100 already registered.
Stadium Information: Parking will be free. You should enter the stadium through Gate 3 and park in front of the Gate 3 entrance. Check back soon as we include more information.
4on4 Division Only Last year we only allowed the top team from each pool to advance to the playoffs. This year we are going to let the top two teams from each pool advance to the playoffs and to make up for the extra time we will play some of the 4on4 pool play games outside the stadium at a local facility. Depending on the number of teams registered for 4on4, some games may be played outside the stadium. All teams will get at least 1 pool play game in the stadium and ALL playoff games on Sunday will be in the stadium.
5on5 Rules 2008 5-ON-5 Tournament Rules FIELD SIZE: 30X60 w/two 10-yard end zones. Fixed 1 st downs at 15/30/15 yard lines.ROSTER: Max of 10. GAMECLOCK: 30 minute game w/one 2 minute warning at end of game, or, until one team scores 28 points. CONTACT: THERE IS NO BLOCKING AT ANYTIME!!! FUMBLES: Ball is dead anytime it hits ground, including bad snaps. SCRIMMAGE: Team that wins toss chooses ball or to defer. Team w/ball starts at own 15 and has 3 downs to get 1 st down or ball gets walked down to defensive teams 15 andthey take over. Only on interception does Defense take over at spot. Offense has 6 seconds for ball to cross line of scrimmage. Once offense is in Red Zone (last 15 yards) its pass only. Prior to red zone, offense may rush ball at will. Ball carrier cannot shield flag belt or run over defenders. Ball must be snapped between legs. Each team gets 2 time-outs per game. DEFENSE: The defense has one (1) rusher who lines up 5 yards off line of scrimmage and rushes at the snap. Secondary can line up on line of scrimmage but can’t rush unless it’s a run play. Laterals are run plays. EXTRA POINTS: Pass only! 1 pt form 5 yard line. 2 pts from 10 yard line. SAFETY: 2 pts and defense takes over on own 15 yard line. TIE GAMES: Each team gets one down from 15, longest play wins by 1 pt.
Format The top two teams from each division advance to single elimination playoffs on Sunday. All 8on8 and 9on9 pool play games will be played outside the stadium. Depending on the number of teams registered for 4on4, some games may be played outside the stadium as well. All 4on4 teams will play at least one pool play game inside the stadium and ALL playoff games inside the stadium. 8on8 and 9on9 championship games will be played in the Stadium. Depending on the number of entries, 8on8 Men's A Division non-contact teams will play all playoff games in the stadium. We reserve the right to place teams according to past tournament performance. We do not allow sandbagging. If you are not sure which division you should play in, please call so we may clarify. If we catch you playing below your skill level we will disqualify you from the tournament without refund.
